Very long, slender, and deep green beans with a slightly chewy texture and sweet, green flavour, popular in Asian and South Indian stir-fries and curries. Read more
Green Long Beans, also known as Yardlong Beans or Asparagus Beans, are distinct from common green beans due to their length, which can exceed a foot. They have a firm, crisp texture when raw, which softens slightly upon cooking while retaining their shape well. They are commonly cut into shorter pieces and used in stir-fries, coconut-based curries (like Thoran or Mezhukkupuratti in Kerala), and vegetable stews. They are a good source of vitamins A and C, and folate.
